If your profession involves working on a computer, then you would have to go through a daily routine, to launch the applications you need at the start of the day and perform various actions before you shut down the computer. WinTimerX can make your work much easier. It gives you the possibility of scheduling any repetitive tasks, from opening folders to backing up files. The application has a simple design and its functions are very easy to understand.

WinTimerX is free to try for 12 days, but without any functionality restrictions. It comes in a small package and it can be installed in no time. The application works on Windows 2000, XP, Vista, Win 7 and Win 8 and it does not ask for too may resources or additional tools.

Scheduled tasks are displayed in a table of contents, on the software's main user interface. You can use a series of options, located above the table, to disable or enable tasks, delete them or run them. New tasks can be defined and scheduled on separate windows. You can bring up scheduling options for preset tasks, for accessing files, folders, applications and websites and for recording macros.

The application comes with a wide range of predefined tasks, such as shutting down or restarting the computer, emptying the recycle bin, backing up files, printing notes and others. A few specifications can be made, depending on the selected task. For example, if you choose the shut down action, you can set the application to shut down your machine with or without prompting you or to warn you a few seconds in advance.

Setting the application to launch files, folders, programs or websites is much easier. All you have to do is select the type of element you wish to launch and specify its path. Recording macros is also easy. You only need to hit a Record button, on a small window, and perform the action you want to record.

Setting up a schedule is an identical operation, regardless of the defined task. You can set the application to run your task once or on a daily or weekly basis, at a specific date and time.

Pros

You can schedule various actions on your computer. The software comes with a good number of predefined tasks and it allows you to record macros. It can execute your tasks once, on a daily basis or once a week.

Cons

Apart for the limited evaluation period, there are no serious drawbacks to mention. WinTimerX gives you the possibility of automating your daily routine in just a few minutes, without any effort.
